...Sure thing, the light's always on round here.

When it comes to top tens, all I know is that the Beatles are always my pick for best band. Other than that it seems to be similar to your case. Too much quality to go around. I do know, however, that I always here Bob Seger's "Turn the Page" as a good theme song for the Tower books, for some reason. I think it's down mainly to the songs traveling motif, and it's combination of the Honky-Tonk and the Epic.

ChriC.PrisonerNumber6https://www.blogger.com/profile/03156430802462353459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3917612005522287441.post-40296195768520407382020-01-19T06:37:02.688-06:002020-01-19T06:37:02.688-06:00I'm going to refrain from reading the entirety...I'm going to refrain from reading the entirety of this for now, for the reason that I think it might make more sense for me to come back to it after I reread the novel (which I plan to do via audiobook at some point this year).

However, I will mention right up front that any playlist which begins with "The Boys of Summer" is a playlist I endorse. And emotionally, it absolutely fits this novel for me. It's one of my very favorite songs; I'd never be able to come up with any sort of actual top five, or top ten, or maybe even top hundred, but I *might* be able to come up with a list of songs that are in my opinion essentially perfect and therefore unrankable, and it would be on that list. I love it so much I almost can't stand to listen to it, lest it cause me to dissolve in a puddle of tears. That's not true of every song I'd put on that hypothetical list of mine, but it's true of a few; and that's one for sure.

Anyways, this seems like a strong concept for a blog post. King's novels often have explicit musical references ("Christine") and even when they don't, they're evocative enough that they work well with being given a soundtrack. That's a thought I had once before myself, regarding the Dark Tower books. I didn't get far in assigning music to them, but Moby's "God Moving Over the Face of the Waters" kind of called out to me as being nicely representative of the end of the seventh book.

Anyways. Point is, I get this concept and look forward to engaging with your take on it further at some point soon!Bryant Burnettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01189356171455609865noreply@blogger.com
